WARM-BLOODED ONES

EQUIDAE FAMILY (ASS, HORSE, ZEBRA)

Treasure Your Wildness

Horse drawing

People are well acquainted with Equidae Family (Ass, Horse, and Zebra). They tamed Horses and Asses to transport their burdens from place to place. Also, Donkeys (tamed Asses) were highly prized because They provided rich milk. And when people learned how to ride Horse, their lives were transformed. Now they could explore and conquer. Trade and travel on Horse and Donkey promoted contacts between disparate cultures, and the civilizations of the ancient world coalesced and bloomed.

What are Equids like?  They are large four-legged Animals with hooves. Equids usually live in bands consisting of a single Stallion with his Mares. Relatively swift and alert runners, Equids will flee from danger. Observant and cautious, these Social Animals refuse to do things that seem dangerous to Them. Equids can crossbreed with Each Other, but often have infertile offspring. For example, Mule is a cross between Female Ass and Male Horse.

From early times, people have been fascinated by Equids. Even though, they tamed Horse and Ass for work, people still had to respect Equids’ wild qualities. No matter how tame They may seem, Equids will eventually display their wild side. Taming Horse is a long process. Donkeys have a reputation for being stubborn and kicking people. Moreover, Zebras have never been tamed. Wherever possible, domestic Equids will “go wild” (feral). Today, “Wild” Horses and Burros are found in Africa, Australia, and North America.

Equidae Family tells people to treasure and nurture their wild side. Your wildness helps you over the rough spots and keeps adventure in your life. Just remember that being too wild makes you contrary.
