The most common of Fur Seals, Northern Fur Seal is the happiest in the open ocean. He fishes through the night and rests on the ocean surface during the day. Northern Fur Seal follows the Fish where They go. The only times that Northern Fur Seal joins his fellow Fur Seals is during the summer breeding season.
More agile than real Seals, Northern Fur Seal uses his hind flippers to move quickly over land for short distances. He uses his webbed front flippers and hind flippers in swimming. His dense fur adds buoyancy as well as insulation for his nomadic ocean life.
Unlike other Fur Seals and Sea Lions, Northern Fur Seal lives alone more than He lives with others. He does gather with his friends during breeding season but most of his time is spent swimming in the ocean going from place to place. Northern Fur Seal enjoys his own company, and does not need a crowd about him. You can learn to enjoy your own company like Northern Fur Seal.
